Newborn shoots are my favourite. They require a lot of skill, patience and time but the results are well worth it.  Those first few days of your baby’s life are so precious and that beautiful newborn stage is over before you realise it.  Those teeny tiny hands and feet, the wrinkled skin and whispy hair.

Let me capture these special days for you so they can be cherished forever.

Session Location

The newborn sessions are taken in the comfort of your own home where baby and mum feel most relaxed.  As the newborn shoots take place within the first 10 days of your baby’s life I find home shoots are much more convenient for new mums and dads.

The Perfect Age

Newborn sessions are taken within the first 10 days of your baby’s birth.  This is when your baby sleeps best and still curls up in those newborn curly sleepy positions.  In photographic terms once your baby reaches two weeks the newborn stage is over and every single day your newborn becomes more and more alert and therefore is not so easy to settle into a deep sleep.

The Session Length

I like the session to be relaxed and unrushed and allow up to 3-4 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding and comforting.

When to schedule your newborn session

It’s never to early to book a newborn session.  Because your baby’s birth date is unpredictable, I will pre-book you a provisional appointment which we can arrange when your baby arrives.

Viewing your images

Within 14 days after your session a selection of 25-30 retouched images will be available for you to view in a private on-line gallery.  This gallery is available to view for 14 days.
